Where’s a Schoolhouse Rock video when you need one?

With the economy in crisis–especially after the 777 point crash in the stock market on Monday–many Americans are probably wondering what the hell is going to be done about it. Well, there’s a bailout plan floating around–in both the House of Representatives and Senate–that will well, bail us out of this. The plan was presented to the House the same day, but then rejected, which I’m not sure is a good or bad thing because I don’t know the details of the plan. However, the Senate passed their version of the plan today.

Now I’m not going to lie, when it comes to economics, my knowledge is extremely limited and as a journalist, I feel like I should know more. We had to take a class on the topic for my major, but sadly, I’ve got to admit that I pretty much failed the class (I know what you’re thinking, what the hell kind of Asian am I?!). This being said, even an economically illiterate being such as myself is probably doing their best to try and understand what’s going on and what’s going to happen. I did some searching and unfortunately, there is no Schoolhouse Rock video about economics that would give us a quick Econ 101 lesson. We’ve got to do it the longhand–more or less–way.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try to do some productive Net surfing/reading…
