Project Self-Improvement

Since I’ve been unemployed I have had a lot of time on my hands. But instead of slacking off and doing nothing, I’ve been taking advantage of the time off and have been working to improve my physical and mental well-being.

I’ve been exercising regularly (taking classes at the gym helps A LOT), researching and investing in products to improve my skin (my skin can get pretty dry) and slowly working my way through the twenty-something non-romance books on my bookshelf I have yet to read.

Food has always been a weakness for me, so I still have to work on eating better. Fortunately, I’ve never been big on junk food (unless chocolate is involved).

Because of this, I have decided to take hot yoga. I normally would not do something that combines two things I’ve never been a big fan of — extreme heat and yoga — but a friend told me about it and I thought I’d keep an open mind and give it a try. So Wynn, a few of her friends and I have started taking classes at Hot Yoga of Mill Creek.

I’ve only been to two classes, but I have to say I do like it so far. The second time was quite a bit easier than the first, so that can only mean good things as I keep going.

I’m not sure how long I will keep doing it because I’ve only paid for the new student introductory month special. Hot yoga gets pricier afterwards and I don’t know if I could afford it. We’ll see.

  2. Thanks again doing this with me. I’m so glad we talked about it! AS far as eating healthier goes, I can try to help you! I’ve been doing really well. I’ve been filling up on fruit and yogurt and protein lately. Still cant do veggeis…. haha
